Reflections on Using ChatGPT for Career Planning and Resume Writing

 
 
  Yesterday, I revised and reworte my outdated resume for years. Recently, I've been deeply considering my future career. Should I keep pursuing work that doesn't align with my character and chasing after unrealistic goals and dreams, or Should I take a more practical approach to my career as preparing for the public sector and aiming for a stable position in government or other institutions?
 
  During this moment, I suddenly thought that it would be fun to ask to ChatGPT. Firstly, I gave my friendly greetings to GPT. This is because, you know, everyone has a certain fear and conern about this unkonw and unpredictable entity, so I thought it's natrual that in order to engage in a long conversation with such a presence, one must begin with great politeness. Anyway, I started to write down my hidden concerns to this unkown, almighty, superpower and invisible something.
 

Would you be so kind as to assist me with my self-introduction for my future job?

 
 
  It responded like this;
"Of course! I can assist you with writing your self-introduction. Could you provide more details about what you need? If you explain the purpose of your self-introduction or the aspects you want to emphasize, I can help you tailor it accordingly."
 
  Then, I gathered all the content from my past resumes, excluding sesitive parts, and requested GPT to revise, organize and summerize my writings. The results were way better than my expectation. It acted like it grasped all the essential points that every company is likely to require and it identified even the subtle deatils I had been unsure about and it neatly completed everything. Just like how every resume can be seen as either ambitious and confident in a positive light, or pretentious and exaggerated in a negative light, the resume GPT provided was unrealistic yet extremely realistic and practical.
 
  I was literally shocked. 
Of course, I heard in many times that job seekers these days use ChatGPT to prepare for employment, but deep in mind, it must be too mechanical, soulless, and unrealistic. It never work….
But in that moment, I realized that I was dragging all the contents written by GPT and pasting the content into the new resume format. For me, this was a very humiliating and hurt my pride. By the way, even now I'm still assisted with GPT....
 
  Well, It's okay.
If I could get a job and earn a small amount of money with this resume, that's good to me.
Nothing to problem... but it felt like I had given my soul and my precious past to this unknown entity.
 
  However, it also advised a lot to me, including future career.
As analiyzing my personality and past careers based on my data, it illuminated my own personal bright future, as long as I keep working hard. Except for too much private things, it proposed a lot of positions as follows;
 
 
MICE Industry Planner
Cultural Event Planner and Operations Expert
Cultural Event Project Manager
Cultural Tourism Development Manager
Destination Marketing Manager, focusing on Buddhist Tourism
Cultural and Tourism PR Manager
